Murder Suspect Dies By Suicide After SWAT Standoff In NJ Town, Prosecutor Says

A man wanted in the killing of a Seaside Heights mom in Manchester died by suicide after a SWAT standoff in Toms River on Friday, July 5, authorities said.

Maxwell Johnston, 35, had been wanted in the murder of 25-year-old Gabriella Caroleo of Seaside Heights on Thursday, June 27.

Following an hours-long standoff at 1905 Ravenwood Drive in Toms River, Johnston took his own life, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.
